What do you use to thin Cerakote?
Answer from Admin
We don't recommend adding or removing anything from our coatings in hopes of adjusting the viscosity if it's too thick or thin. Doing so may jeopardize the performance and longevity of what we know our products are capable of. There are ways to mitigate coating from reaching a point of unusable status. The articles below provide information on Cerakote® shelf-life, storage and agitation to assist with longevity.

What is the temperature rating of MC-5100. I am wondering if it can withstand the temperature of an intake manifold.
Answer from Admin
MC-5100 has a temperature rating of 300°F. Unless you are experiencing some severe engine bay temperatures, there should be no issue applying this to your intake manifold!

What are the advantages and disadvantages of MC-5100 over MC-160. My application is for polished aluminium.
Answer from Admin
When it comes to polished aluminum, there is no clear on God's green earth that is better than our MC-5100. MC-5100 has all the advantages, not only is it a harder coating but it is also our only ambient cure clear that is fully, 100% cured in 24 hours
