What do you use to thin Cerakote?
Answer from Admin
We don't recommend adding or removing anything from our coatings in hopes of adjusting the viscosity if it's too thick or thin. Doing so may jeopardize the performance and longevity of what we know our products are capable of. There are ways to mitigate coating from reaching a point of unusable status. The articles below provide information on Cerakote® shelf-life, storage and agitation to assist with longevity.

With C-102, a flash time between coats is not necessary. You should apply each coat back-to-back until you reach the recommended film thickness. If your initial coat is applied too heavy, you will want to wait just long enough to see the solvents evaporate before applying an additional coat, which usually takes three to five minutes in ideal conditions (Room temperature between 68°F – 74°F, with 20% to 50% humidity).
